Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Does this make any sense?

The CEO is about to bless us all here in Kingwood with a visit so for the past week handful of people have been running around like headless chicken trying to tidy up the facility so it's presentable to His Majesty. Now keep in mind that there have been countless rounds of layoffs here so how is this good use of limited human resource? Not to mention, this location will probably shut down in a few months, at least partially.

He needs to come visit the crown jewel of WFT WHR. We are the shining spot of the company.

Maybe if you're lucky you will also get the rest of the crew along with him. What all is still there, product line wise? Is it more than just the Automation group?

I guess you will get the VP and your new Director following along behind him. Don't see how that place is going to stay open with the folks responsible for driving it - feel for the folks in the back shop doing the actual work more than anything.

Wants to see it so he can say he is familiar with it before selling it off. Kingwood product lines carry one of the highest, if not highest, allocations with regard to overhead. This means the EBITDA is and has been negative for some time. Take a look at how the groups are run from top down - does it inspire confidence in you? (GPLM excluded, they seem to care and attempt to do the right thing but management around them fails them as does manufacturing). The group was better off before it was taken up by WFT as well as before pushing the last VP out and breaking things into silos again.
