It depends on what you call "KC". The area used to be a part of Grandview and/or Belton (suburbs) but a political trick got it integrated into KCMO so they could play taxation tricks to get tax subsidies from the city, the county, and the state. So layers of taxpayers are ponying up to build & keep subsidizing a FEDERAL facility.

Makes sense, right? How much in taxes do you like to pay to subsidize the Fed and a wealthy corporation like Honeywell? If taxes need to be cut, it's the taxes the citizens are doling out like this.

If you are going to do an internship it'd probably be OK for that but since it's Honeywell, you should guess it is, as it is everywhere in the corporation.

Thanks all for the information,

I'm not a trumper , but I know how to keep my friggin opinions to myself and how to get my job done.

Not going in expecting growth. I just finished at KU and want to get some experience out of college that doesn't involve being exploited via an "internship".

I suppose people with cancer should also pay more, shouldn't they? Diabetics should pony up the cash as well.

False. Check your equivalence. I said SLOBS should pay their own way, that has nothing to do with a terminal illness. But if I worked in pharma, yes. They should definitely pony up! Gotta increase those margins brah.

Belton, MO. ? I thought it was in KC ?

If you want to work in a place where as soon as you enter the parking lot you'll be watched continuously by cameras & other sensors by "Big Brother" but since you're likely "patriotic" you won't mind, right?

Nope wont mind at all, it' s not like they aren't watching anyway, right?

Dangit my post got mangled. It cut out the parts of if a Trump supporter you'll feel comfortable also drinking in the local bars. You'll have to keep your "piece" at home since you won't be able to keep it in your car in the parking lot or carry it into work. But you'll find plenty of co-workers and locals to talk about them.

If you get layed off you'll have to sell your house & move to another city....the rest continues.

Nothing like working in a redneck sh-hole like Belton, MO. If you're a big Trump supporter you'll feel very comfortable eating in the surrounding diners you'll have to sell your house & move to another city, unless somehow you can go work at Garmin for a pay cut, or worse, transfer to Honeywell Olathe where all jobs are dead-end, if that facility is even open past this calendar year. And those are the "good" technical employers in town.

If you want a job where you can't even tell your own family or friends what your job is or what you do, then this might be for you.

Yes it is a good place to work. Interesting and engaging work. Everything you need under one roof. Lots of growth and advancement opportunities. Hiring a few hundred engineers each year and will continue hiring at a strong pace into 2018. I recommend FM&T.

Very little growth as their market share is quickly diminishing. Raises are 1-2% unless it's a furlough year, then it's 0%. Long work hours due to a shortage of people and teams stretched across the planet. HON loves to exploit "emerging markets" so brush up on your Chinese and Hindi too. Most job changes are considered lateral moves to HR, so you'll get zero compensation increases for moving around. Phoney job performance reviews where the manager has to pick someone to be the worst employee in the team. Yes it's really great working here. You're probably thinking I'm making this up or embellishing, but I only wish I was.

"Stagnant" comes to mind. They'll pay your checks and you won't have to work too hard. Don't go in expecting any growth, though.

Fine company, if you don't mind paying out of pocket for your dental work. Fine company if you don't mind the phonied employee reviews, and getting a letter that says "I hope you realize the seriousness of your situation.". And about that, I a couldn't be more serious. Pass this one by, unless you are a glutton for punishment.

BMI is not a fair measure of health. I suppose people with cancer should also pay more, shouldn't they? Diabetics should pony up the cash as well.

... BMI. Really? That's the worst complaint?

"The CEO passes costs to people who don't care for themselves..."

Honeywell is not a reputable company. How is your BMI? If you don't meet our CEOs BMI mandate, your health insurance goes up. Does that sound like a company you'd like to work for?

That's a subjective question.

In what way do you mean reputable?
