Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Go back to basics

I Believe in one thing Lowes needs to do is make the Hardware / Tool / and Lumber Dept's together in one area so that customers and professionals don't have to run all over the store to buy what they need for doing there jobs. Also have sale person there to help people. Not doing IRP's / stocking /Zoning and ect. When store is open for business. Just my opinion. Go back to old school stores. Mom and Pop had the right idea. Commercial way never works and people are tired of commercializing ways.

Agreed, @OMPYwqm-1hiv. I could never understand this idea that if you spread out stuff around the store people will buy more while they get what they need. Instead, all I see is a bunch of increasingly angry people who resent the inconvenience and who will never come back to the store. We lose more than we gain like this, for sure.

My store is already set up like that; lumber, tools, hardware all together near each other. What the contractors b--ch about is having to hike to the other end of the store for plumbing.

OSLG gets slammed by angry customers we send them from lumber because our pickets, fencing, stone, splash guards, fence posts, etc. is kept on the other end outside! Anybody that's worked lumber knows what pricks those contractors are and how they think the whole store should stop for them...I love it! I laugh when OSLG is out of blue carts and these d---s have to hump it back to lumber in order to get their trucks and drive down to the garden center, and then have go pick up their sh--!!

It's basic marketing. Geared towards the impulse buyer. The more time spent in the store, the more useless crap thrown in the cart.
