Just curious what everyone's AES scores have been. My area was in the thirties for the overall score. Anyone worse than that ?

Vthc,
I've never heard of scores that low. Good grief. I heard they were low for the total company. Not sure if that is true though.
Our team was also in the 30s. Almost 20 points lower than last year. And last year, the Sr Dir kind of scolded us for rating it so low and that was the only meeting we had about it. Truly, no one cares. With a score as low as this you'd expect someone to say something, but nope.
I heard of a manager even getting promoted despite his team giving a low AES score. That really shows the AES scores don't really matter
If anyone believes that AES is totally anonymous, then I have some oceanfront property in Western OK I would like to sell ya! Case in point, one year, a certain director in finance asked the People Group why AES was so low in a particular area. People Group's response? "We'll have to 'drill down' on that and get back with you." When asked what she meant by "drilling down", the People Person gave a defensive lecture about how AES was totally anonymous and quickly changed the subject. Notice that she never answered the question. The moral of the story: If a company has to send out "anonymous" surveys to find out what their people are thinking, then they have no business being in business. If you don't care about your associates, just say do. We may not like your answer, but so least we'll appreciate your transparency.
@fks If no one cares about it then why do we waste time and money on it? WM associates work with a third party company to come up with the questions and create the portal. Associates take the survey and then wind up sitting in a 2-4 hour meeting reviewing those results. Time better spent on other tasks.
Are we doing the survey because Mr. Sam would have wanted us to? Out of some long lost noble cause? Mr. Sam isn't here and as you said nobody cares about the results.
(The beatings will continue until morale improves.)
My manager openly told me that "nobody cares about it" - I trust her...
these scores mean absolutely nothing and haven't for several years now. most are to intimidated by the sign on process to answer honestly. the survey can be done in under 2 minutes so only a fraction of the questions that were once there. it's only done because associates expect it and to make you think w/m or sam's actually care what you think. store mgt knows it's worthless but would never be negative for obvious reasons.
I've heard engagement scores across the company are averaging pretty low, like in the fifties. Don't know how that compares with previous years. Scores in my area have been mediocre for some time now so I don't expect that has changed much this time, if my coworkers' daily morale is any indication.
Everyone, after all of the turmoil this year with layoffs, buyouts, and more layoffs. AES Scores will not be high this year. Now the real question is, does it matter? And the answer is NO. The company does the AES Survey purely for the sake of saying that they "listen" to their associates. In all the years that I had the opportunity to work for Wal-Mart, only one actual real thing ever came out of AES and the required grass roots when scores were poor. We were still over-allocated, but we were not longer told that we were "over-allocated by design".
A friend told me she has her scheduled meeting to review her results next week. My manager hasn't even broached the subject. But the again, my area/team always seems to be one of the last to learn their results.
What do you think par rankings are if not associate sacrifice?
I work in an area where the boss doesn't speak up for his people and our team is getting killed. Folks are trying to leave as soon as their time is up because of this.
The thirties? Holy crap.... Does your boss literally sacrifice associates at work or something?
