Friday after next one thing is certain... layoffs are coming. Who is it going to be? Last layoff was Thursday June 1. Like clock work managers got an email informing them to make mandatory meetings, and phone calls just hours before the layoff was to take place.
The only notice it was coming was a travel ban, and in some cases a meeting invite that was sent out (accidentally?) days before. Be sure to post notice of travel bans in your department. Be sure to post notice of mandatory meeting with your manager so the rest of us get some sort of warning.
The big question is... who gets hit? Sales, Support, Dev, Consulting, or Hardware? Do they all get hit? Just a random trickle across the board? Who ever gets it, it wont be enough to trigger warn notices and HW got a mid QTR haircut already. My guess is its more sales, as the cloud numbers may not have been met in Q1. Rumor has it sales gets the hatchet every QTR on the QTR as motivation until 40% of the sales force has been reduced by Q3...
Sad thing is all we have are rumors to go on. Nothing but silence from the ivory tower. No quelling of rumors... just silence... and then layoffs, just under the warn notification limits... How much of this can we take? Whats the point? Why not just say yeah... 40% by Q3 or Q4 or whatever.... tell people so they can plan.
