There is layoff's coming over the next 18 months minimum. We are asked to lie to those asking about it by HR as it is "being a good ambassador for the company". HR knows we will have to live with ourselves later and don't care as long as they keep their pay checks. QC will always have managers and above lie right to your face and us minions will keep doing it to save our so "meaningful jobs". Ha what a croc of bs. Be morally accountable to yourselves no one else or you'll regret later. Grow a pair QC and tell the truth lay offs are coming in many forms, straight out laid off, outsourced, ship jobs over seas, or replace with H1B's either way it amounts to same thing. QC is no longer the gorilla in the room getting what we want - we are now the chimpanzee begging for a banana. Best of luck we need with our current Executives ramming the ship into ice bergs. Titanic comes to mind.

Logic plays no part in Qualcomm's decisions as upper management does not communicate decisions to line management. Labs can continue to be built out while the personnel for the labs are being laid off or jobs are being off-shored. Lots of past evidence of this... as far as NXP, maybe a US layoff would be comforting for the decision makers in the EU, as it may save EU jobs...
