Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle returns to growth, will it last?

So, some analysts believe that there is hope for Oracle thanks to the cloud, as it is finally outpacing all the declines in legacy businesses. Not sure many would agree, but here's the link, if anybody is interested.

Oracle has not returned to growth. Check the FY2017 earnings report: the "growth" in net profit in Q4 was due to a one-time tax break. There are other articles on SeekingAlpha that paint a far different picture.

SFDC just blew past oracle, with real cloud revenues, I might add

Well all these articles assume that the cloud revenue numbers are actually real cloud revenues, we actually know better, so there goes all this positive nonsense. Fake cloud revenues = bright future; real cloud revenues, not so much

I am reminded of MH's tenure at HP, where similar assumptions were made about growth. I do wonder if he really was fired for "Squeezing the Charmin', or if that was the excuse the BoD used once they realized what he had actually done to the company.
