However, California all by itself gave Clinton 4,269,978 more popular votes than Trump. One state, California, decided Clinton's win on the popular vote. Our founding fathers were very intelligent to recognize that the electoral college voting method of deciding the presidency is the only fair method. Trump won 30 states vs. Clinton's 20 states & D.C.
