Really? It is absolutely shocking that layoffs have caused disruptions in the company.

“In the second quarter, comp growth was constrained as a result of disruption caused by changes to our store staffing model earlier in the year, which became more apparent with increased traffic,” Niblock said.

I am a CSA 5 and I can not get an interview. I have applied for 10 positions I am over qualified for or have done for many years and still NO ONE. If I want to stay it will have to be in my store. Of the department managers that weren't given a Manager position. Most are gone.. I'll be the last one in my store and then I will go part time..

Untold story is the thousands of department manager jobs eliminated. By giving them temp CSA5 jobs and not interviewing or hiring them for other positions, the 10,000 most experienced people in the stores are being forced to leave. The company's way of firing thousands without it being publicized.

I was told I would have to take a $4.00 an hour pay cut because I was going from Being a specialist to being a CSA but I haven't been a specialist since January.We were all given the title of CSA 5 so would it not be a lateral move from a CSA to a CSA?

They won't go back to department managers but they will pay the price. No matter how many part timers you put on the floor it won't help.. People look for experience. With a constant revolving door they will stop coming. Customers like the same faces. They trust them. I know. My customers told me they come because they can trust me. Though as a CSA 5 I'll be either part time or gone in a few months..

"Year-over-year sales at Lowe's stores, known as comps, were up. But CEO Robert Niblock told analysts Wednesday that recent changes in the way Lowe's staffs its stores held back growth.

“In the second quarter, comp growth was constrained as a result of disruption caused by changes to our store staffing model earlier in the year, which became more apparent with increased traffic,” Niblock said.

In January, the company laid off 2,400 assistant store managers, and replaced them with a smaller number of staff on sales floors. That was supposed to better serve customers seeking help."

What do you know, Niblock admits the new staffing model is a failure. My store hasn't hired a single "customer facing associate" and has further reduced payroll by not replacing some associates that have left.
