The FTC dropped it's investigation today, giving the merger the green light, so hold onto ur butts, don't want to be the guy sitting on the toilet when the Amazonzoid breaks down the shack......

Amazon saved the day. Had WFM been bought by private equity it would have been carved to pieces. Had it been left alone it could have folded altogether. Central command had no idea how to run a business and the last few years showed it.
Jobs will change and go away altogether, but that's life in the business world. Always keep your eyes open and your resume up to date.
Do you know how much product gets stolen from a place like Kroger every day? Produce getting rung up under cheaper PLUs at self scan, or just plain old five finger discounts? I knew a guy who told me he would literally just walk out the front door of Kroger with a shopping cart full of beer. My point is that unfortunately grocery is prone to high amounts of unknown shrink, WFM is not unique in that aspect. I'm not saying Amazon won't try and improve it, but at the end of the day it will happen to some extent.
I am looking forward to it. Our current model does not work. Amazon will fix it. Amazon has the data analysis that WFM has been lacking. Under our current failing model I've noticed several things that Amazon could easily fix just by tracking all product and looking at big data from WFM and many other sources. One thing that will likely change is our very loose attitude toward giving away free product to customers and TMs as samples. That blew my mind when I started working here how much shrink does not get logged. Unknown shrink will soon all become known. They will know what is missing from where and what time period it went missing.
Anxious.
