QCOM to split

With Derek Aberle leaving, I think it's about time to split QCT and QTL.

QCT is a profitable business and the current stock price doesn't justify this. Better to remove QTL from the equation.

What do you guys think?

QTL can't exist without QCT.

Qcom has focused too much on mobile. Their server chips and supplying for laptops is a step in the right direction, but it may be too little too late.

Without QCT, QTL is just a patent troll.

The current reliance on QTL is why QCT got so bloated and sloppy, and why Qualcomm has no diversity of products.

Whatever IP QCT make QTL licenses. What would QTL do by itself? Stay in business until the patents expire?

Are you an idiot? Without QTL, QCT is the size of mediaTek. No way to keep this many head counts in US. All has to be moved to India or China. I guess it's already happening that way.

Split Qualcomm and sell QCT to Mediatek. And ship all the jobs to China and India. No use trying to do technology in the USA. Asia will win in the long run

They use QTL profits to feed the decreasing profit of QCT. Current biz model makes sense until QTL royalty model breaks, which could be soon.

That was Sanjay's dream but the Jacobs' family is opposed to it.
