Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

What have you seen at Chevron in the last 10 years?

It is time to start really calling out all the corporate twits. Let's turn this blog into factual data. If you see something say it. If you see something at work and use your computer to post so call "anonymous" violations of corporate, federal and local laws they can track you through IT. Apparently they are watching this site. Start talking people this is the only way to get them to change. There is an agenda behind the scenes to shut this site down. If this is the only way for the little man to get his point across so be it. We don't have to call names, but we can give factual instances and data to back it up. If it goes public so be it. JW to 27 psg and above should have their bonus's cut. The next CEO should be from the outside, the board should be replaced and we need some new corporate people in place.

Mud- slinging and name-calling fits well in any elementary school. Why you need to bring it into your work environment shows a lack of professional growth and self-confidence. I thought service companies were bad.

Obviously, the education standard is quite poor here and probity is entirely non-existent. That's the oil business.

The OP asks; "What have you seen at Chevron in the last 10 years?" What I've seen in the last decade has been...

1) a continuing breakdown of good decision-making, despite the company having well thought out procedures in place.

2) a more liberal attitude from management that has led to the erosion of accountability and lack of consequences.

3) more importance given to the social issues (LGBT, minorities, gender gap, etc) rather than running an oil and gas business.

4) the promotion of the wrong people into important positions.

Well since everyone is complaining about name calling. Maybe the OP wants to ensure that these comments are valid and not just a bunch of people complaining. Why don't you put something factual that way it not just a bunch of "but@@@hurt" people.

"Let's turn this blog into factual data." Are you writing a blog, OP? Let us know where it is and if we are allowed to comment on it. If you are the slightest bit PC literate, you do realize that these miscellaneous comments on a post at this website do not constitute a "blog" do you not? Please tell us all that you are joking and save yourself some embarrassment.

Thanks.

Supervisor's signing their own AFE's. This is a good one. The one in question is still working for Chevron too. Again Brothers, Cousins and of course my BFF. It will be funny to see how the backstabbing will start.

Make them all apply for their jobs, like we had too. Then surprise them. I agree with the posting above. Chevron needs some new ideals and new blood. Post the CEO position, just like you would any other job.

Growing that dividend was the most horrible move ever. You don't pay out by getting into more debt. Just now the asset's that he has sold will now be what pays the dividend. We the employees, which are stakeholders demand your bonus JW along with every other person who approved saving the dividend. We have a voice too, we are not just your employees we are the stakeholders too. Every person needs to demand every single one of their bonus's to cover these dividends. Are you for your employees or yourself. Let's see...... Pebble Beach, 22 million salary etc...... What is your payout at retirement. We had fatalities this year slash their bonus. Time to walk the walk. If we get a cut so do you.

I was cut last spring and could care less about Chevron trying to find my identity. JW could cover his incompetence when oil prices were high and the company was fat, dumb and happy. All he did was make Chevron a liberal, PC, multicultural, gender, s-xual lifestyle, and ethnic diversity cesspool. His top priority was always growing the dividend and not being successful at project execution. He stated that $100/barrel oil was here to stay right before the bottom fell out and then played golf at Pebble Beach when thousands were losing their jobs. The first order of business for the new CEO is to eliminate all of the embarrassingly stupid slogans.

I worked at Wilcrest when I first started with Chevron, we had a lady abuse their pcard and bought trips, shoes, grocery shopping etc. Supervisor approved all charges, this was in excess of $50000.00+ Of course she was fired, but the rule is that the supervisor was to be fired too. Did that happen? No it did not. So the good ole boys, brothers and cousins prevail. Good they pushed for a HAZOP should have been done scheduled from the beginning.

I always visit and post on this site anonymously via a VPN connection. If you are not doing this already, you are taking the risk of being identified. Of course, it's only your IP address that is discoverable. Chevron would need the help of your ISP to identify you by subscriber name. This won't likely happen unless they can get a court order. For them to get a court order, you would have to be making threats to people or property. Stay away from doing that and you should be able to speak your mind all you like.

Just checked. It's even worse than I suspected. This site is owned by Google. Yep, worst case scenario. Assume everything you say here is tracked back to you and the info is for sale, but not officially of course.

Here's the proof.

I suspect this site is even owned by a group friendly to the corporations. Consider that if it was owned by a neutral entity, they would not be able to resist the kind of money corporations could throw at them to buy it.

There needs to be an outlet, as there's a ton of layoffs going on right now, not just in O+G, but many industries. But that outlet must be controlled, this is how they think.

So, assume you are tracked even at home when you post. The difference is, they can't outright say they are disciplining or firing you for posting, as that would blow their cover. Instead, they would make up some BS excuse. No problem for them.

They built an whole MCP without the final HAZOP. Only did the safety review when pushed by engineers post construction.
