If you don't check glassdoor or thelayoff before applying, then you're not doing your due diligence and you deserve what you get.

Just read the reviews on Glassdoor and you can learn quite a bit about a possible future employer
There is enough information out there if they did their due diligence. For many college kids, it's a great opportunity. Just be prepared to move on in a year or two.
IMO, layoff training should be included to the new employee orientation. I can just see SC saying "...next, every new employee is advised to sign up for FedEx delivery notifications..."
