Press release from earlier today.... Is this an SNL skit?

The 3 Stooges are trying every trick on the book to artificially sustain the unsustainable oracle share prices. It is a forehone conclusion that oracle cloud revenues for Q1 will be pure Sh*t and so they are trying to get ahead of it making it seem like they are on top of it and addressing the issues. What a bunch on bone heads and the investors and analysts who believe them are even dumber.
PR - at it's best. This is to confuse recruits and clients.
As it's only a couple of days before the end of Oracle's Q1, this PR may be designed to soften the blow of what may be poor revenue numbers that will be announced in mid-September. The transition from a seasoned field sales force to a new college hire telesales group is happening to rapidly and too disruptively. This board is filled with true reports of repeated layoffs and attrition in the sales force. MH and SC have no idea how uncompetitive Oracle's cloud products are, how difficult it is to sell Oracle products, and how angry Oracle customers are from draconian audits and expensive support contracts. Expecting that new college hires will be able to handle this is a strategy that cannot succeed.
Selling ORCL products requires the talents and the wardrobe of a used car salesman. Sales are conducted on a piece of paper with 4 squares - one square for money down, one for the amount financed, one for trade-in value, one for the purchase price.
So if you are working on the auto-mall, wear gold and silver jewelry, love a hustle, you would feel very much at home at ORCL sales.
More like 5,000 new college grads that are in their early 20's. They might want them to have 5 years of experience.
This IS undeniably the way to run the company into the ground. Replacing experienced sales people and sales support experts with newbies reduces costs AND sales, so this is all about making it a little longer - remember LE is a rotten old fart -- with declining sales and declining costs. Oracle had no future and this strategy is an explicit acknowledgement of that. Down, down, down toward zero everything - costs, sales and share price.
Hurd and Ellison pure genius. Go Oracle!!!!
simple math: my talented expert costs me 200k+, I can hire a junior for lessa than 100k.
same (or more) headcount so no massive layoff whatsoever (fake news remember?), possibily more than 50% cost reduction in opex.
job done, stock holders very happy, stocks rise to another maximum. executives seen as pure genius.
say what? the junior cannot do the job? you're joking right?, in this new cloud world it's just another brick in the wall, same as all the others.
next step: get rid of those juniors and sell everything online or via phone calls. another massive 50% reduction in cost. almost worth a nobel.
With all the subject matter experts being shown the door you have to question if management sees us pawns as only being able to do a single task and incapable of taking on a new role? Some great talent went out the door that could easily pivot from support or engineering to BMC or OPC roles.
Even at a basic financial level RIF packages + new hire costs have to have some significant impact rather than moving talent from one role to another.
There have actually been many reqs posted over the past 2 - 3 weeks, especially since 20-AUG.
Pure Oracle propaganda.......
Probably 5000 workers that will eventually be hired from India.... maybe after they "just can't find anyone" in the U.S.
PR to distract from the forthcoming layoff AND cratering cloud sales. There are not 5,000 s---ers out there who would consider joining oracle
An usual Ad trick before they do massive layoff !
It's a PR Newswire press release from Oracle.
Take it for what you think it's worth.
I guess there first attempt of storing cloud data on an Oracle database isn't working well enough?
The one trick pony starts to stumble and fall...
Yes with Baldwin as Hurd
