Studies show otherwise:

https://qz.com/977850/hyderabad-a-city-that-sends-the-most-software-engineers-to-the-us-has-the-worst-engineers-in-india/

and

https://www.itwire.com/outsourcing/78004-only-36-of-indian-engineers-can-write-compilable-code-study.html

While those studies are not the whole picture, they show that the H1B is not about high skill, but about low wages

The need for immigrants brainpower stems from the fact that most locals are under qualified for such jobs that require intelligence. This big void of intelligence has to be filled by immigrants then. Curse as much as you may, immigrants are a necessity for the country to run!

Yes, the free movement of people did much the same to lower paid workers in the EU - interestingly enough, another stunning idea imposed by an unelected elite. Brexit is pretty much a direct result of this policy. I should also, point out that free movement wasn't actually that free and unencumbered until relatively recently, 2011 in fact (post A10 enlargement).

I generally don't have a problem with the movement of any skilled workers, even US citizens, but H1B is a farce, which has also been widely exploited by oursourcers. Well, in fact, I do have a slight issue with the wholesale movement of health workers from poorer countries to places like the British NHS, because it undermines the health systems in less developed countries.

Oooo listen to her. Put your handbag down.

How about the EU allowing free movement of workers? Low income workers from poorer countries taking jobs of higher paid natives? That's 28 countries. How about low paid immigrants to the oil rich middle East?

So it's not just America.

But you didn't answer the question. Americans going into a foreign country and working is taking a job from a local. How is that different? Should that be allowed?

Presumably any Americans found working in Cisco offices in other countries should be sent home?

Idiot. Very few countries on earth allow wholesale mass immigration to undercut their own workers and society. In fact, in just about all migration countries the basic tenet of the migration system is that it should be for the benefit of the country.

Only the US seems to be silly enough to allow a system be introduced that is basically designed to siphon a couple of million middle class jobs out of the country. Heavy lobbying and political corruption principally aimed to benefit the tech billionaires (who simultaneously all virtue signal to be liberal bleeding hearts).

So should Americans working in other countries go home? Any Americans want to answer or is it all one way for you folks. You are all descendents of immigrants you know. Or has that passed you by?

Americans need to stand up against the influx of cheap labor specially from India.
