Quality is of no concern here anymore; only cost. If its cheaper it's automatically better and if it doesn't work then it's the employee's fault. HOS at its finest.

Guess it doesn't matter to do the job correctly as long as the job is cheaper?

You'd think they'd want to be in control of the whole process, but...not financial engineers.

Watch out after changeover. Proper cleaning is essential for surface flaw detection.

Argh! My last post got mangled when posted.

I said "Poor C&W employees will probably get paid less than the Honeywell employees did with no benefits. Good for executives bad for common workers.".

Poor C bad for the common workers.

Since when is it imperative that a company not operate all aspects of its business needs? Cleaning engines & parts is just part of the process. All the industry giants who figured out how to do everything at one time are now run by a bunch of lazy financial engineers who probably can't even figure out how to use a screwdriver for themselves.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Team,

I am pleased to announce that we have contracted with C&W to manage & operate our engines clean line.

What is Changing?

· C&W will take over our engines clean line starting this month (more info below on timing)

· As part of this change, Honeywell employees currently working in the clean line will be pulled back into the shop to work in other value steams

· There will be no Honeywell census reduction as part of this change

Why are we Making this Change?

· The intent of this change is to shift our people back into our core repair and overhaul activities, and away from non-core activities such as clean/wash

· We will now be able to utilize our team members in other areas of the shop where they are needed to better serve our customers

What is the Timing?

· We don’t have a firm hand off date yet, we are beginning the process now

· We will work to train the C&W team as they staff up, then start to pull our folks back into the shop

Hahahahahahahaha what a nice bunch of propaganda here. They did it to save the money from paying employees. That's all. This is the power of connected, folks! Your department could be next.

Entire Aero division is going to a contract employee model. GE did the same. Bean counters only care about themselves and dont want any HR issues - medical, pension, savings plans, lawsuits, etc. Just cash. BTW, outsourcing everything really did well for GE. (Pun intended). This is short term thinking so those in charge now get more money now.

Very nice! So that's now shipping and receiving, ASRS, and now the wash line. Eventually it will be test and then assembly too. If you're an R&O mechanic, it's time to dust off that resume and start applying. Don't get sold into the next company like the CSRs did with Infosys.

Basically when APUs, Turboprop or jet engines are torn down for overhaul they send the components to a wash line so they can be cleaned and then inspected.

Please, what does "wash line" mean?

Rummage sale or rubbish sale? All pieces of Aero must go!

Especially when upper management is completely incompetent to run a business, and deliver something customers want at the time promised with few breakdowns. They might run a Wall St. wheel into the ground but then, how long can that last without the piece-out? Titans, not.
