The U.S. Govt is in bed with big corps like Intel. Why would the U.S. Govt. care now? It's the blind ignorant faith in dog-eat-dog capitalism, with cancer like non-stop growth mentality that has got us here. We all need to get f@cked really bad for it to change and get better. Unfortunately the management (not all) scum who has risen to the top will suffer less than most of us. Same management that adds little or no value, but consumes like the locust.
