This company-wide all hands meeting on Thursday, what else could it possibly mean? No one remembers anything like it before. They wouldn't do something so big just for SC leaving.
My bet is: Larry needs to escape with his ego intact. Oracle lost the cloud, and this last quarter was the final one before people realize most of our cloud revenue is just on-prem leasing or other accounting black-magic. He's not going down with this ship!

Hmm, in the make belief landing LE and Oz missing SaaS, PaaS and Iaas by some 10 yrs now constitutes "contributing". May I humbly suggest that a mental health evaluation is in order, the sooner the better.
Well so now we know for sure that LE doesn't have the brains to quit and rid oracle of MH, SC, and TK. Brain loss is a terrible thing. There goes oracle done the drain.

No one thinks it would be announced at the summit. It would be right before the summit. The summit would be to keep us from panicking after the announcement.
I highly doubt that within a public company a departure of key officers would be announced in an employee summit meeting. There's an SEC form that is publicly filed along with a press announcement. At the scale of all employees being told about the event and hoping nobody would leak this information it would make no sense. This employee summit seems to be an attempt to slow the rapid decline of employee morale after major shifts in the companies focus which included layoffs everywhere. The pre-meeting survey along with employee created testament videos will be filtered down to only positive ones that will say how great Oracle is doing. I suspect it will be 3 hours of trying to convince everyone they are working at the most innovative exciting company anywhere and Oracle is #1 in cloud, clobbering AWS, Azure, and Google cloud. The problem is that Oracle chases the shadow of AWS from 5 yrs ago, hiring its remnants in the Seattle area to recreate older technology that Amazon and others have already since moved on from. Take Azure Stack, which focuses on a hyperconverged cloud much like Nutanix. Most of the AWS offerings far exceed by orders of magnitude anything that Oracle can provide. With all the efforts going in to Amazon Aurora (the oracle db killer), the reasoning to stick with anything Oracle longer term will be harder and harder for any CIO to champion within an org.

My thinking as well. A big" rah, rah, sispoombah, Oracle is awesome!" meeting. If that is the case, then Larry should try to give people an incentive to stay. l doubt he would give raises or bonuses, but maybe stock options. I've seen other stingy companies do that. Czarly Fiorina did that at HP. Of course, she wrecked HP and the "reinvention" options became worthless.

This isn't just another kickoff like they used to have. As far as I can tell, ALL employees worldwide have been encouraged to watch. That's a first as far as anyone can remember. This in not like one MH's lame town hall events.

Years ago, it used to be that this was the time for kickoff and, usually, LE or one of the then co-presidents would show up. Usually. LE was notorious for never being on time or even not showing up despite being on the agenda. Traveling to kickoff got cut years ago and, with it, the appearance of and of the key execs -- with the exception of a pre-recorded message. The top level executives have been checked out of involvement with the "masses" for quite a while.
So a live appearance at an all-hands, even if it is a virtual/streaming event, is a significant change from the way things have been. I don't believe that LE will retire. He is too much of a narcissist to either let the company go in the middle of a battle (e.g. Cloud) or to trust his wealth that is tied up in Oracle stock to MH or SC. LE too old, tired and disconnected from reality to get back in the saddle, those days are gone. And remember, SC has been very clear that she's going to leave when LE leaves, thus here comes "nightmare on Oracle way" MH takes over and completes the destruction of oracle using his HP playbook

Is he going to fire MH and SC on his way out or leave them in charge? He still owns a lot of stock, does he really trust them not to destroy it? I wouldn't, that's for sure
