Unfortunately I was informed by an honest and reliable source. Performance ratings of 3 and below are at risk and anyone doing a redundant job. Consolidations coming in most areas and many Directors and above is at risk also. Q just can't make the margins and future licensing revenue is likely to be lower significantly after the Apple litigation. Don't panic but it very good time to be honest about career and future planning.

I do confirm the layoffs the person talked about in this thread on Nov 20. I was one of the people affected. There will be a major layoff coming right after the NXP acquisition closes.

Yes. All the rumors is distracting and depressing me. In turn I am not focused on work and not doing a good job. I am trying to stay focused but it is difficult. I just want to run away. I really could use a morale boost.
I think if people focused more on getting their job done and being productive we would be much better off. To much talk let's get stuff done and make this a positive culture place to work. Make it exciting to come to work!

If you have been targeted for layoff there is really both you can do about it. The nice man in ops told me to prepare for the worst and hope for the best as the future is uncertain. I think it is wise to update my resume and perhaps look on indeed.com for possible new opportunities. Why Not?

Not necessarily fake but sounds like the criteria of the 2015 layoff. If it is we won't know until September so there is no basis for concern at this point. Why worry until something definitive is disclosed.
