Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle denies unemployment claims!!!

I was part of a significant WWOPS RIF in February. I am finally eligible for my unemployment benefits, yet Oracle is now claiming I was dismissed for performance - a total fabricated lie. Beyond belief that a corporation so greedy now wants to personally damage a former employee who went over and beyond in the job more times than one could realize.

Even if/when I get this straightened out, it shows you all the deeply flawed character of this company. Never mind that jobs constantly changed; that no raises were extended for incredible acheivements on difficult projects. Never mind that a faceless person in another state who never met you makes the decision to decimate your group. But this? Really?

So the rest of you: be ready. They are lower than low.

I recommend everyone reading this print their performance reviews out as soon as possible. Don't let them deny you.

Thank you for that recommendation. I will certainly pursue that path if I don't get this straightened out or properly appealed to restore them. These are hard-earned benefits that they have no right to take away.

Go to the State Attorney General and ask the to investigate/ prosecute - that's the only way to make these greed A:holes pay for their abusive conduct

Where I live (Colorado), apparently that can be a basis to deny one's earned unemployment benefits. At a certain level, this is truly defamatory. And I assure you, it was not for performance (unless you consider the non-performance of managers who cannot assess what real work, effectiveness, knowledge, and results are). But there is no documentation trail, no "warning", no bad review, no nothing. This is an unsubstantiated claim on Oracle's part from all directions.

Even if you were dismissed for performance, you should still be able to claim unemployment.
