Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Missing entry about unionize

There was an entry about how to probably solve social problems with management acting like currently at DXC: Let's unionize... Astonishingly it was removed. Why? Did it not fit to some one's opinion? Censored?

I read that back at the time GM bought EDS, Ross Perot was asked if his workforce would be unionized and he said something to the effect that if employees were treated right, unions were not needed. However, DXC is NOT an employee friendly company so unions might look appealing but be careful what you wish for.

Having worked for a client who was unionized, I witnessed the dynamic up close and personal for more than a decade. I can honestly say that upwards of 80% of the union resources are used on that 20% of bad apples who couldn't work anywhere WITHOUT a union covering their sorry @$$!

And since I work hard to be effective, I would really resent having to give up any of my already stretched DXC salary for union dues.

Ok unions might work in a sane environment where everyone wants the same outcome (profits) but disagree on the method.

What's going on at DXC benefits only senior mgmt who are biding time stripping the company of assets until they sell it again.

Clients who DONT sue this mess are getting f---ed. Sheeple. Get a more reliable informed happier vendor. Run.

I put a post out a few weeks ago about how the only way to change the ongoing environment of executive 'over' compensation and worker abuse would be through the return of unions. Not sure if that is the one you are referring to, but, can't find it now....

Unions must be created like there is in Europe where such firing cannot be done without extremely valid reasons. Also there is a good compensation given for a layoff. A colleague in Finland got approx 1.5 years (18 months ) salary in lieu of the layoff.

Lets re-post and link together to an external location to UNIONIZE .. once again..

I'm with @tno . I've been checking this site for 2 years now (HPE and DXC boards), never seen any post removed without valid reason. They have just a few rules, like no personal info allowed and no personal insults, but site admins can be brutal - if in violation, they nuke all your posts and block you. Can find their rules if you scroll down to tue page bottom.

Meanwhile: The Bonuses Keep rolling in for the Execs and Nothing for the worker bees ( who quite frankly are the company). They can remove the Posts , But the sentiments will never depart .

Ethical and Moral optics are not something to be removed or ignored . Just shows that sometimes the truth is hard to swallow for those who truly don't earn what they think they are due . Removing a post that is disagreeable to a greedy agenda is simply an action of a cowardly disgust.

A lousy company with a union is still a lousy company. Why would anyone want to stay in this steaming pile of a company.

Anybody who want union in DXC can please go to Ford and GM. Lots of legacy EDS guys are already there and you can add on there to help those ships sink faster.

Stay out of DXC.

Heh. Keynesian economics is not exactly the most current, modern thinking. I'd pass on that.

@ RIFed SDM:

Please go back to school and try not to get a further job in finance. Please read first:

Thank you.

@bxb

German automakers generally sell upscale automobiles at high prices and can absorb the union burden.

DXC is selling commodity services akin to a Ford Focus. As a person that was on the inside of the finances at CSC for a while I can tell you the margins are not that high.

Don't get me wrong. There are hundreds of useless, bloated, overpaid empty suits at DXC, and they should axe that baggage. DXC is not serving the interests of its employees or its customers right now in my view, but unions will only serve to bankrupt the company, and that helps no one.

@ RIFed SDM

The German automakers are all unionized and they make twice the profits and pay their workers twice as much compared to the US.

There is a marketing department as well as branding department which maintains the companys image and also looks into any posts related to twitter, facebook, instagram, etc, etc. censorship (where ever possible) is part of the game.

OeyLRLT-tno, inasmuch we like to believe the management team can care or less about this site or the HPE layoff site. There have been numerous posts contradict the opinions of the employees to discourage transparency. It is all too obvious...this is precisely why DXC becomes the current state. Leadership failed to focus on strategic tasks. Instead they spend time on WFRs and contradicts opinions on this forum.. yes, you know who you are...

I hate DXC, but this is a stupid idea. Google Detroit automakers. Killing a companies ability to compete won't help.

I would be surprised if DXC management know or care about this site.

It is more likely that the thread contravened the site's User Agreement and was removed for that reason.

it s not the first time that entries suddenly disappear. I guess that higher management is also watching this forum and if the post is too dangerous, it is being removed?
