I hate being around my co-workers during the workday. Why would I want to spend my free time around them?
1gqj, same thing for me, no sit down, nothing. Just an E-mail. I can't believe the lack of professionalism of the so-called loser chevroids. I guess I shouldn't have expected anything better from them.
I would have thought with the layoff savings there would be more budget for a Christmas blowout. Plus, the surviving staff need to blow off steam and celebrate a tough year.
Well it seems the beatings will continue until the morale improves. I was canned via my private e-mail with no calls, exit interviews etc etc from our HR muppets so dont feel too bad.
The last reply is exactly right. There was still a Christmas party last year bc layoffs were 'minimal'. Now with the bu combining and union contracts convienently expiring within the 2020 time frame you can bet there will be huge layoffs and a messy bump fest between area union members
Did anyone consider that the decision wasn't financially motivated but people related. You forget there will be notifications going out late 4Q and how inconsiderate it would be to those affected?
Christmas party? Man, we've not had one of those in several years in Houston. Not even a " Holiday Party" as they've been renamed over 10 years ago.
This is the most stupid decision from Al & Co (so far) to cancel the holiday party how much we are going to save this way ?
I believe all Al wants is to copy the Duri's centralized org structure (Al was in Duri) if that is the case why spin this 2020 thing. These novice leaders are creating lots of distraction hazards that potentially may lead to incidents. If all you want is to centralize you could have done that on background and announce all it once this drip drip
drip is a hug distraction and motivation killer.
