Salary Raise from Grade 3 to Grade 5

Hey everyone. For all those people who started as grade 3 and got a promotion what was your salary boost? I'm currently making around 70k and I'm aware RCG grade 5s make about 95k in Chandler. I'm wondering if the raise will bring me up to 95k when I get my promotion. I get the feeling that that won't happen. Your input would be appreciated.

Also no need for drama or trolling in this thread. You trolls are so cute thinking you're actually upsetting people.

I got 16.6% promo when I got grade 5 in chandler. I'm making about 75k base, about 85k with bonuses.

Starting as a grade 3, you will never catch up to a grade 5. The gap is too large that the biggest promo raises won't allow you to catch up. I've seen this when I started as a grade 3 and as a manager of grade 3s

If you are a white male over 45, might get a year's salary...

The fastest way to higher grade would be a couple years of O and E getting you 7-10% than a promo in the third year for 8-10% raise. This is better to get three years of above average!0

Worst would be go from S to O and a promo and 15% or so raise and then back to that generous 2.5% the system puts in there for the manager!

I doubt if you're worth 70k.

This is so true, get a total amount of money, select who you want to give big raises. Work from your spreadsheet and figure out the big winners and the others less. Adjust focal to meet the requirements, the fix is in.

As an FLM, the highest promotion budget that I have ever been given was about 15%. The lowest was about 8%. I think it depends on how your salary aligns with the salary range of the new grade. I say "I think", because HR is completely intransparent about this.

Note though that it is to a certain extent up to your manager how to assign the budget. While the promo budget can only be given to promo candidates, I have often given promo candidates a very low amount from my general budget to help out others who deserved a high raise but couldn't get it due to Intels demeritocracy.

You're kidding yourself if you think your raise will be that big. Probably 10% average. 14% if you're really lucky.
