Retail to indirect?

Get ready folks - 50% of Retail location will be converted to indirect within the year. Behind closed doors, this is already in the works. Wake up. T-mobile has been executing a strategic plan against Verizon and may I say very successfully the past four years. Verizon in it's complete arrogance and narcissistic attitude has been asleep at the wheel and now it's too late. No recovery for Verizon without the company selling off huge amounts of its wireless assets

I have seen this floated around, but referring to new locations, not old. Can anybody confirm this?

Anyone heard any "wink wink" info on this lately?

Another very obvious tell being retail DMs that now oversee indirect doors.

Based on T-MO's results, I would say this will happen sooner than later.

All over the country, local indirect locations have the new logo-ed/lit outdoor signage. Meanwhile, direct locations all sport the old Verizon Wireless logo, with the exception of some new (or newly converted) locations.

You think this might be an indicator of things to come? I sure do.

What do you mean real estate sold off? Verizon stores are all in leased space.

^ CONFIRMED^ --- a significant chunk of corp retail will be converted to indirect location and real estate sold off. Less locations and significant decreases at nearly every position of retail, especially Retail Directors and Retail District Managers.

Be smart . Don't sit back and wait and play the guessing game. Plenty of opportunities there.

There are hints of this happening if you pay attention. 1) Premium retail signage is being swapped out and now looks like Corporate signage (why else would they be doing this)? 2) Stores that have already gone through this process. 3) A lot of chatter on here.

They will do this somewhat slowly so the existing corporate staff doesn't have a mass exodus and leave VZ in a pickle if large numbers started leaving etc. How fast this will happen to ALL stores will just be "guesses" as that could be an ever evolving process. From the board of directors stand point moving all stores to the Indirect channel presents HUGE cost savings. If they were smart they'd keep the same Corporate training process for retail and just have the Indirect new hires go through it. This will then provide a consistent training that they have influence over to all Reps. Just remember VZ Corp does NOT want the Indirect stores to do poorly. Only the Corp store reps want that so they wouldn't lose traffic to those doors.

Just be aware of this possibility so you are less surprised down the road. Good luck to all!!!
