Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Make Sears Great Again

I noticed that the store manager that wrote all of those great articles on LinkedIn is no longer with the company. I guess he even had enough and couldn't make Sears Great Again.

@wjm. I agree with you. It is wrong to mis lead when you know something is not accurate. But I guess this is what life has come to.....people dont tell the truth anymore. Just look in the political arena. Most in high positions have an agenda and the normal working people are left to try to figure out what to do. For some of those at the top, Sears is a great company just due to the sheer fact of they are making a great salary and getting great experience so all is great. Loyalty is pretty much a thing of the past. I am not saying this from my own life but just in general. Ideally those at the top would have worked their way up in the company, so they could understand the day to day of an aging store with old systems and broken down air conditioners. I hear the complaints. That is true for some positions today, but probably a small percentage.

@gap, agree with you up to a point. I didn't give a comprehensive list of all the top SHC movement in recent months though and as you may know the list is long. Much longer than than for all but the most troubled companies. I was speaking on the crass hypocrisy of touting the company one minute and fleeing the next. I understand it's a free capitalist economy but those statements on Pebble were designed to keep the average employee believing in SHC while these people are financially set and leaving the sinking ship. The average SHC employee makes minimal wages so playing around with them is unconscionable.

At the top turnover is always a big number. These guys go to companies, stay for a year or two, make their retention bonus and move on. While I may not personally agree with it, it is what it is. They are paid incredibly well to do a job and that is what they do for the short time they are here.

Watch other companies too in the industry. You will always see a lot of movement at the top.
