Hahaha, yes! I definitely think you should go out and spend that 10% raise NOW... you are definitely getting a raise and I think yours is actually going to be 20%! That's what Mike said anyway so go on and go celebrate and blow it all, you have nothing to worry about and you are going to make even more money and you will never get laid off because Dell has never been in better shape... EVER. You are safe. And, you know if you have been at Dell/EMC for any number of years, that you have nothing to worry about! They NEVER play dirty and they are never *y and they would certainly never YOU layoff... and, all those other layoffs never really happened, they are just rumors, no one ever gets laid off and Dell really doesn't have any debt, they are raking in money hand over fist and all that talk about massive debt is nothing but more rumors... it's all rumors so you should definitely NEVER worry about your job, you are safe and you will only rise in through the ranks as fast as your income rises so why are you wasting your time posting on this site when you should be out spending all that money you are going to be making soon?

I've heard rumors of 10% raises and bonuses for the folks in Hopkinton. It seems that most of the negative effects of the merger on EMC are over and the good times are back. We are living in 2004 again, baby :-) Hip hip hooray for Michael.
There were cuts in the Pacific Northwest, they just weren't publicized.
No cuts in Hopkinton this quarter. But business climate is so bad in Storage there is gonna be some action either from storage management or from big Mike himself. Storage management are incompetent but cunning bunch consisting of left overs after merger. They are successful fooling Big Mike to fund useless products. That is as of now. EMC management understand weak spot of Dell which is no intellectual IP. Dell is a laptop and server assembler. The strategy is too stretch this fooling around. Meanwhile do layoffs in Q3. There has to be sacrificial lambs to keep the bottom line manageable.The crooks are gonna survive layoffs it will only be the meek engineers who will be affected.
