Two people have been laid off at our UnitedHealth location yesterday. Has anybody else been impacted by this, or is it an isolated incident? And should we worry that this is just the beginning and there are more layoffs incoming this week? In any case, good luck to everybody!

The layoffs were across the board. Optum, Optum360 & UHG. As someone mentioned its a way to begin building the reserve for the lawsuits UHG is facing. The settlement is estimated to end upwards of 6B.
I was told 4-5% headcount layoffs spread across UHC and Optum. Now that the DOJ has joined the two big $$ False Claims Acts lawsuits, UHG has to build a reserve by chopping heads. Sad!
I worked for Optum360 in Pasadena, CA. yesterday myself and another person were let go as well as one other in FLA. Its a blessing we all know how badly run the place is and our lack of any healthcare coverage besides a PPO with extremely hi premiums and deductables left my family $23k in debt over 3 years. I should have left years ago.
I assume wellness coaches not agile coaches?
Either way it didn't seem to have anything to do with performance scores it was simply getting rid of the higher paid employes
Yes, multiple locations. When asked how they decided who they kept, the response was, "we looked at stats." In my office, they kept coaches with 2.9 overall and got rid of coaches with 3.5 overall or higher, so I'm not sure which stats they used.

look @ all the other threads here, UHC has been laying off people steadily for nearly 6 months now
Primarily in areas where they have TDPers
