Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What can Verizon do to rebound?

In all honesty, I personally don't believe that we will ever be able to reach our glory days again, but any kind of improvement will be welcomed... It will in any case mean fewer layoffs.

Alot of blowell macdaddys' troubles started during the strike, when he had the ballz to visit strikers on the picket line and tell them he didn't know why they were there, all while getting a great photo op. It was, for me, that day that as an employee I went from looking at him with neutral eyes to where I am now, which is looking at him now with pure hatred and wanting to see him end up in an old folks home, unable to move. He's a rich, evil, selfish, disgusting infested creature of a supposed human being.

Arrogance leads to failure, thats what has been happening since 2010.no turn around any time soon and anyway you put, blowell and his dwarfs will all be retired by the time this place turns around or it may end up like enron...

VZWs demise will be pegged to one single thing, well actually two "ignorance" and "arrogance". Leadership refuses to change and challenge other carries and continues to pound their chest thinking they are still king. They ship is sinking and once sunk some other company will purchase Verizon and that will be the end. You know in the end if they pushed their fits services more and made it more accessible that would ease the burden of the wireless side sinking as crazy as that sounds.

The people running this company are not the people who made us great. These are pretenders. They were handed a golden corporation and look what they have done with it.

To think that we will return being the Class of the Communication Industry is absurd. Intelligent people in all phases of the business have lost faith in our leadership. Once negativity has set in, and it has, the company cannot do anything but fail.

I've seen other companies do exactly what VZ is doing now...and once they start down the path of throwing money at Lean Six Sigma consultants and the like, buying up other companies without any apparent rhyme or reason and laying off people left and right, they seldom recover. Like the others, VZ will end up on the ash heap of history...perhaps as a subsidiary of some other poorly run company, like Comcast.

With the crew running this ship? You could go back to 2005 and all the same dumb things would happen even if they KNEW the outcome ahead of time....hey maybe it will workout this time....lol...time travel back to 05... Good one

They can do what they have been doing...changing the course of the company for future growth. While wireless drove profits for years, the market is close to saturated and VZ must find news ways to grow...digital media and ad revenue will drive things going forward as wireless becomes commoditized the same way local and LD did.

Takes a long time to change the course of a massive company and VZ has done things with an eye towards the future, often times that path is painful and slower than many would like. I believe VZ will be fine....what is to become of TMUS as wireless become a simple commodity as they have nothing else...just an opinion mind you
