Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Interesting that interns could not attend GOM-ROM townhalls in Hou &Cov. Is non-transparency a new best practice?

@OmLSIhT-9vmt, What did you change your major from? A STEM field? 99% of STEM fields can be applied/utilized in any type of industry. And when were you laid off? Sorry that you had to get cut, since you are obviously very passionate and ambitious about your career, going back to school and moving back in with your parents.

I was there. Informed my parents that I will change my major. Not going to school to go through this. This is a terrible industry.

Who said interns could not attend the ROM townhalls? Wasn't official whoever it was because interns were there. Going through these times is part of the business.

Don't want to trigger anybody. They would all cluster in the mothering rooms as a safe space.

CVX does it's best to hide the unpleasant parts of our business to the interns... they're given pretty, clean little projects and tasks to stroke their little millennial egos so they choose to join chevron

You know it's a bad meeting when the interns are not allowed

CVX execs don't want to make the wrong impression with the interns.

Interns are only summer-hires. They are not permanent employees. But the same token, these town halls are not open to the public.

If only non-transparency was new. It's the practice. Not sure if it's a best practice.
