lowes stock Down - amazon working with sears

Now we know why they are hiring appliance specialists. Amazon has worked a deal with sears to sell Kenmore appliances. Lowes stock is down to 72.77 at the time of this post. down $4.04 from the close yesterday.

How will lowes combat amazon? they will probably just station associates in appliances. Amazon will beat them on cost then I'd bet work their way into larger appliance manufacturers and battle lowes head to head item by item. that will help the consumer but hurt lowes profits.

Home Depot stock is down too....

I only go to stores to touch and feel the product. As a lowes employee, I understand many customers do the same. So are appliance specialists truly important. I was one and I'd say not as much as they believe. Usually the lower end sales need the most effort, the mid range customer can save hundreds by shopping around. The manufacturer sets the price pretty equal. So it will be on the specialty brands like Kenmore that the customer will find the most price flexibility. The truly high end customer wont be in lowes. They have Viking, Miele, Dacor, Sub-zero. I haven't looked recently but lowes didn't sell them. Usually a good interior designer will have the keys to those discounts.

Just take this weeks ad, go to amazon, type the model number and find their prices and delivery is free they have 12 months no payment or interest and protection plans as well.

Amazon is already starting on same day delivery for contractors so. Lumber, Tile and Flooring aren't out of their reach. As bad as Amazon sounds, most of their sales come from independent mom and pop sellers that use their site. The little guy is the winner.

Any store that competes on price can't provide service and selection unless they have some other way to make up the difference. This is why Lowe's wants the product protection plans and credit cards pushed. Customers want three things; someone knowledgeable to help them and what they came for to be in stock, and the ability to make their purchase quickly - they want their time respected.

Sears and Kmart keep closing stores. Nibbles must be hoping that Sears pulls Amazon down as well.

Lowes stock is down because the holders realized just how important department managers were to the customer service experience. We ensured departmental training, products were in stock, kept the departments up to par with our people, and were responsible for the overall customer service within our small businesses inside of the 4 walls.

I won't be surprised if soon Lowe's has a fleet of pickup trucks at each store so we can offer same day delivery. Lowe's is selling appliances at or below cost, that's why they want us to push the warranties and Lowe's credit cards all the time. What fool wants a credit card with 28% interest?

Lowe's only works with Threats it's how it has always been. Plus they respond by cutting back..

Don't forget to sell them the product protection plans and sign them up for a Lowe's Advantage credit card, and a "My Lowe's" card as well! If you don't you'll be called into the office for a sit down with management. And written up if it's not your first time.

Lowe's response will be that every employee has to sell appliances even when they are off the clock. You will also have to deliver an appliance on your way home.

I saw that earlier today! It's like everything in the department was marked down and on sale. Lowe's is going to need to sell a lot of cleaning products (higher profit margin) to make up the difference.

Yes, but Home Depot stock is still twice the price of Lowes. Bet that's a sore spot for Nibby and friends.
