Big cut will happen; but only after NXP merger; Q cannot afford to announce layoffs publicly under the scrutiny of European regulators; just be prepared when it happens.
Expect 20-30 % cutting of work force, all legal issues and the merger are pushing management to cut massively.
People wishing for the next big layoff are just pushing their agenda. Qualcomm is out of big cost cutting mode. I wouldn't expect larger than a few hundred this calendar year.
It was already mentioned during the q2 qct all hands. It is a known fact hence no questions. It is just a matter of time and the size. It should be getting bigger as it becomes more serious. Look at all advices down the list. If you are young and not ready to retire, just leave. If you are ok not to have a job, wait and get the package.

very surprised no layoff question. The fact that reduction was not mentioned is very suspicious. Conversely, no mention or reassurance of job security was mentioned either. Is there a typical time of year for layoff? Is there a cadence to these reductions?
