Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

OVERTIME at its best

In order to make minimum metrics, some of us are working until 7/8pm daily... and it seems this is completely acceptable to our coaches.

Is this becoming the norm that we must work 11/12 hr days in order to make the minimum amount of 5 succ calls/day? Doesn't Management realize that this will only force us to leave and find jobs where we can actually go home after our 8 hr shift OR get paid over time if ever needed?

Morale is super low! And the stress is outrageous.

It's so easy to dictate what people should and shouldn't be posting when you are anonymous. Just scroll by whatever you feel is "clogging up the site," poster.

And by the way, that's not how the good ol' interwebs work, sweetie. The site won't clog up. There is room for everyone. ;)

With all due respect prev post, we have the freedom to post as we please because unfortunately it affects our every day performance.

Since Management monitors this site, it is also a very good way to convey the problems, concerns and frustrations we are experiencing in the hopes those improve.

It is also good to know that you are not alone and others are going through the same frustrations as you are. We do not have that since we work at home and whenever we have our team meetings, nobody speaks, the morale is so low nobody cares anymore.

This site is for exchanging information about layoffs, not a forum for whining about how you either aren't capable of or unwilling to do your job. Please stop clogging up the site with your "poor me" drivel.

Coaches, if you have a doctor's appointment that lasts more than two hours, do you take a full day of PTO like we are forced to do?

But then we are to work overtime and no flexibility is given when needed! Simply wrong.

To the poster who brought up the excellent point of her Coach having to be out for a couple of hours, but the coach had her blackberry. Why do coaches have mobile phones instead of a traditional phone like the rest of us do? Their job is to be a manager. If I'm on the phone all day, in front of a computer, then why shouldn't my Coach be? For the WAH Coaches, what could they possibly need to "be on mobile," for? Why aren't Coaches having to aux code their way through the day? The whole place is laughable!

We can have 20/30 UTC's and still must meet metrics. It is amazing how different coaches are. Some are in this with no clue as to how to manage anybody! Some others are amazing leaders that motivate you to do your best without the constant push/micromanagement and our fear of failing.

"Our coach gets utcs" your coach makes calls?

I think everybody has a different experience, depending on their coach. I had some health issues this week and my coach didn't make me take a day off for a mid day doctor appointment. My coach gently pushes the expectation and while it is known, our team us not threatened or compared to other teams, in fact, the message us to collaborate. I don't agree with many of the policies in place right now, but, geez, my team experience is so different than what is posted! We all make our numbers, most of us take our well being time, and none of us are working hours and hours more than we should. Can the work be done in a day? Most days, yes. Our coach gets utcs and you're doing the best you can.

It's beyond ridiculous I feel like an elementary student. Prior to working with Humana I worked jobs were I could take time for a medical appt and not feel as though I am doing something wrong. No on asked so when are you gonna make the time up? Therefore, I just take the entire day. Humana really need to restructure a lot of it's processes. The majority of us are people with professional degrees just because we don't have a title behind our name when shouldn't feel like we're less than. I'm tired of being chained to the computer calling as many people as I can in one day. Then you have those fake coworkers lying in the chat saying this is best job ever, give them a couple of drinks and you'll get the truth. They hate it! It's just a job that pay the bills darn sure not a career or something to be proud of. I'm seeking a career opportunity that allows me to utilize my professional knowledge as a master level worker. This place is no different than a damn sweat shop.

I would not mind working an extra hour a day because I work from home and that is a time savings. But I work 10/11 hours per day. My coach knows it but does not say anything. She does not represent us. She had a doctor's appointment this week and informed us she would be gone a couple hours. Oh...but she had her blackberry with her so it was ok. I took a PTO day for my doctor's appointment. Another frustration is that I work so hard but then my performance report makes me look like I am a failure. We do not have control over MOC because the days start clicking before we even get the member in our roster. And I feel the audits are just a waste and create frustrations rather than motivation to improve. We can provide wonderful information to a member but if we do not ask it in the right way and if we don't sumarize the call the way they think we should and if we do not ask permission to teach them something...we are failures. That is all ridiculous. I have members that have been on my roster for over 5 years....give us a break. All of this is crazy making and results in turnover. I am one who has been here for 7 years. I was a wonderful employee for Humana. I precepted,,,,I was on committees.....I was point person when coach was gone.... But Cant take it any longer. My mental and physical health is too important. I just accepted another job.

Agreed, below poster. We need to take care of ourselves, just like we encourage members to do.

You have to make taking care of yourself a priority. When they made us do forced mandatory over time some people voiced their opinions but others volunteered to do extra hours even though they already work over -time just to meet their numbers. Understand this, Humana management don't care about you; make yourself a priority.

Nope, prisoners can see a doctor when needed and even max security prisoners are guaranteed an hour a day outside. So if Humsn were like prison, it would be an improvement from current conditions.

Ok, let's say they don't want to pay overtime. But at least give us flexibility, we have none but 1 hr to flex during the week and if we haven't met metrics, forget about that hr as well, so how do you plan doctor's appointments? This is a prison!
