Apple needs a 5G modem completed by summer 2018. The "leaders in 5G" ( Intel if you don't recall) are struggling to get their next gen modem released (The same one Qualcomm released 2 years ago).

Apple needs a 5G modem in 2018? Where did you get that kind of BS from? I have a feeling you have no clue what 5G actually is.
There is absolutely no way Intel can make a 5G modem product in the next 5 years.
