Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Is lowell mcadam retiring?

I have heard the rumours but no hits using the keywords in google. He's 63, not exactly a hip age, been with verizon since 2000, and has done a lot of damage. Serious replies, please, is he retiring so this company can thrive again or were the retirement rumours just that... unfounded rumours? Verizon stock has been dead stuck at right around 45$ a share for 17 years now, when he started with the company it hasn't budged a dollar, as I remember 43$ was the founders stock grants the employees got in 2000 and here it still is, 17 years later, to just over 44$ now. So, what's up with the old fart? Retiring or just planning on running this ship into the sea floor?

It's too late for this company. It will flounder like a duck until it sinks thanks to Lowell and his minions he brought on board.

Hopefully he’s being forced out like he deserves! Incompetent, arrogant POS!!! Good riddance! Hope no one ever hires him again and he has to go live in a box somewhere!!!

The Verizon unofficial rule is out at 65, that is when Ivan turned over the reigns to Lowell

He was supposed to retire last year for Stratton, but stayed on because the business was turning.

@qqv love or hate trumo, one thing we can all agree on here is old lowell wouldn't last long in a CEO position by anything trump runs, he'd be long fired. Verizon rewards mediocrity, so the old guy is still running a badly tuned show.

@ckg I agree with you, I feel his retirement will be kinda along the lines of a Jeff sessions retirement. Reluctantly, in shame, or just forced out, just not as publicly as trump is doing to ol' jeffie...

Verizon stock was as high as $60 recently then it all went to $hit. My prediction is Q2 results will be $hit again and old man Lowell will announce retirement but in reality he will be asked to leave behind closed doors.
