Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

ISD (IT Department) is currently reviewing budgets

Each team/area in ISD is currently reviewing their budgets. Expecting cuts to the contractors that help the badged associates. This means that the workloads will shift back to the badged associates. Some associates are concerned that these budgets cuts will also roll over to the associates themselves. Not sure when the budgets need to be finalized.

If you think things are bad in the field where applications are down for days at a time, wait to see what happens if the headcount is reduced all around.

That new incentive plan is a great way for the favorites to get even more money on top of the undeserved promotions and spark awards.

Cannot wait to get even more layers of management and fewer resources to actually get things done.

I have found that evals are a joke and that favoritism permeates the entire process. I see people that get promoted when they shouldn't and many that should but don't.

You can ask 20 people at the level above you and you will get 20 answers. You should only get one consistent answer from everyone you ask.

I've seen people do an install and cause months of fixes on the issues caused. They get promoted because they fixed the issue they caused. SMH. I've seen people work on managers or directors 'pet projects' that bring no value and they get promoted. I've seen people use the open door policy to 'complain' and they get blacklisted and never see a promotion again. I've also seen plenty of managers throw their associates under a bus and get them termed.

Yes, underperformers typically receive "does not meet expectations" either in whole, or in part on their annual review.

Are the underperformers the ones who get doesn't meet AND partially doesn't meet?

@OrnWSY6-2qmn in our area they are vendors that are in several times a week, and now get paper badges when they walk in.

No worries.. ISD has devised a new incentive payout plan for budget shortage. Superb performers get 1.75 times the bonus and under performers get nothing. The bell curve (5,25,50,15,5) ensures that there is enough money, left over from total incentive payout, for the consultants!

Is it 1000 vendor badges that just were no longer needed ?? As in they might not have worked in 7 months and just now cleaning up????

They revoked 1000 vendor badges in DGTC today, but as @OrnWSY6-rmo, this is an annual event.

This is nothing new. It happens every year at this time.
