A career fair is kind of good but isn't it better to ask possibly affected employee whether they want to transfer? It would save a lot of time

Hey. It was announced yesterday in email that our (Glendale) Engineering Site Leader is leaving the company Aug 11. Not only have the rats been jumping ship , but when the captan goes , that is telling.

They have to spend the money on work spaces to attract talent because they can no longer attract talent based on reputation, growth, benefits, job security etc. You'll be whisked right out of that cool milenial approved workspace as soon as the numbers are down.

HON employees: the company's go to source of cost savings

But they are still spending millions on the new workspaces in Clearwater. They said it will help attract new talent.

Subject: MESSAGE FROM CARL ESPOSITO AND MIKE MADSEN

Honeywell Internal

July 25, 2017

Dear Colleague;

Aerospace continues to operate in a slow growth environment, particularly in our Space business. In the past year, like our customers and competitors, we’ve experienced a global industry downturn. Year-to-date, our business is down significantly and is expected to remain this way for at least the next 18 months.

Due to these factors, we’ve made the difficult decision to conduct a workforce reduction within various business areas that support the Space business in the U.S. and Canada to better align with current and projected demand. This includes Electronic Solutions engineering, Space business and program management, and ISC supporting the Space business.

We fully understand how difficult and unwelcome this news is. While this is driven by business need, that doesn’t make this decision any easier, especially because it affects valued employees. We will move as quickly as possible through the process and do our best to inform affected employees as soon as possible.

Individual employee self-nomination requests will follow established consistent and equitable policies and procedures. Employees who wish to self-nominate for this reduction can do so confidentially by contacting their Human Resources, preferably by email, by close of business on August 11. Any self-nominations submitted for the reduction will be irrevocable after August 11.

Eligible employees selected through this process and who work through their exit date will be offered the same benefits, including severance and outplacement assistance, as other employees affected by these reductions. Self-Nominations will not be accepted from employees in areas not affected by this reduction. Honeywell reserves the right to accept or reject self-nomination requests based on business needs.

The Honeywell reduction in force policy for non-represented U.S. employees (policy #2031) is available online. For employees in Canada, the reduction in force policy can be found in HR Direct, under HR Polices. You can also contact your HR representative for a copy of the policy.

We are working hard to generate new business and growth opportunities and will continue to evaluate other costs actions as the Space business outlook requires.

We know this news can be a distraction, so please keep focused on safety, quality and on meeting our customer commitments.

Carl Esposito Mike Madsen

President, Electronic Solutions Vice President, Integrated Supply Chain

It's a good thing that we hired all those new vp's. Now they can actually take the blame for all the stupid crap they do.

I think this is based on the "Space reduction" announced @ Clearwater. May only affect Space and Defense sites.
