Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Not Quite Sure What to Think...

It seems that some of our vendors know more about what is going on, and they seem to have no problem disclosing it.

Yesterday I talked to one of ours as they were being checked in and they informed me that the SM at one of the stores in my locale told his employees that their store is closing, but there has been no official word as of yet and that store is not on a previously announced list. Another vendor later in the day told me that there are two stores in my district that are on "the list."

Does this sound like another round of store closings is in the works, or is the company going to start quietly closing stores to try and avoid more negative media?

Is it as simple as the vendors being told that certain stops are being taken off their route? Don't make a mistake and deliver to a closing store. Stuff like that.

Store closures are always shown in the vendor portal.

If a store manager says his location will be closing and it is not announced yet, then it is likely that he is aware of the lease end date.

If the vendor says you are closing they are probably right. They seem to somehow get this info early
