Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Let's call them on it!

Why are we all reading this web when we us a group can call them on it!! Lets all write letters to the editors of your local newspapers and plead our case. Explain how they got rid of audit and have other things in place to abolish more jobs in the clubs. We all know it lets let everyone know. They kept it out of the public eye when they did the audit team and home office associates because they don't want any bad publicity. It maybe a small group in the clubs or big and we that work the areas that we think are going to change are ready for the news. Let's get this over with so we all can move on and make choices that best fit everyone's individual circumstance. I personally just want to go to work and believe in the company that I've worked for over 25yrs and do a good job without all the drama. We can DO THIS!!

This business is ran by morons who do knee jerk reactions to the pressures of competing with the internet & Costco. Time & time again they have made poor decisions only to go back & redo: produce lead, no produce lead, produce lead, front end mgr, no front end mgr, front end mgr, grocery lead, no grocery lead, grocery lead, etc. It usually takes them 2 years to figure out they screwed up. Dollar differences went from $5000 to almost $100,000 (not lying). This results in incorrect onhands which leads to a drop in sales cos do not have the merch to sell. Audit was never meant to stop shrink. It was to keep inventory correct at all times. In a perfect world every club would do exactly as they are suppose to do with the new CIM system but reality is very different. We are all just caught up in the changes of a new way to shop. WalMart spent a lot of money on the self checkouts & the scan and go...it's not going away. I just wish they would go ahead & rip that band aid off & get it over with. It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.....

Walmart is a business. They don't keep employees just because you think they should. I agree companies should treat their employees with respect but if they see you as an negative for their profit they will restructure whether it makes the news or not. Face it , technology is the end of many people's jobs not just in our company. And I believe shareholders like to see the cost of running a business go down not up. Online ordering has impacted brick and mortar stores tremendously. Do you blame a business for adjusting to the times? Everyone acts like the audit team was the only thing stopping shrink. They didn't stop stuff from getting stolen they just keyed it out when they counted it short. They didnt go swe some pants when they came up short on the count. They just keyed them out. There was no longer a need for a "team". Do you honestly think theveryone audit team saved the company more than 100k salary of team combined plus cost of benefits?? They are still doing some audits and inventory each year. I believe they probably should have cut to only one auditor, for doing no movement, negative on hand, upc issues, but they saw otherwise. There will not be a need for a TEAM leader in the business office once the new cash machines come in. There will not be a need for a TEAM lead in marketing once they go more digital focus on advertising...like groupon etc.
