I am pretty certain this post will not have immunity from the vulgar and sarcastic comments which sadly are the bulk of most of the content on this site as of late. I am appealing to the folks who are making these comments to please STOP and be much more considerate. As someone who was laid off and is under much stress, and on behalf of my peers who are under considerable stress at the thought of being laid off due to job redundancy, I can tell you that I (we) look at this site for updates, real information, encouragement, and simply coping. It's helpful to see real news and ideas on what we can or should plan for. The vulgar, insensitive, and fake comments are simply unfortunate and stressful. If you are unemployed and are angry- get help! If your are employed- please know how fortunate you are. No- I'm not a troll, WW, or any other name you want to call me. i am a stressed out but hopeful, formerly employed EMC'er. I'm hoping it's no one from Dell or EMC who are making light of a very unfortunate circumstance and a good group of folks.

Well on a sombre note layoffs are on the horizon in Hopkinton, NDC, RTP and MDC. Impacted team managers are with HR in conference rooms. Definite layoff in the next few days in these sites. Other sites maybe impacted as well. But for the above mentioned sites I have first hand information. There are tell tale signs of Managers going all silent due to the non disclosures they have signed off, HR and legal working overtime on this ritual sacrifice. The ambeince in Dell EMC can be compared to some tribal sect preparing for a sacrificial feast. My stomach churns.
