Annual pay hike this year?

Heard some rumors that there will be no annual pay hike this year? Is that true? What time do they usually let people know about it?

The last raises across the board in DFW were in July 2016.

Thanks for your detailed response! So did anyone in DFW get a pay hike this year? If there is one when would that happen? Or it's too late already?

In MVD, Salary Boards with delegates of the government, the workers and the companies are organized since 2005 and set minimum wages for each industry and also seek to establish annual mandatory wage adjustments for each sector.

Mandatory salary increases are common in Europe and in some parts of Asia and Latin America. The mechanism for the increase can be a fixed percentage, a flat amount or, in some cases, an individualized calculation. Depending on the country, the increase can be a statutory requirement, it can be negotiated with a trade union or works council or it can be bargained by site.

At Sabre, there is a pool of money available for increases. First, that money has to be divided up and the locations with mandated increases get funded first. Then the rest of the money is allocated to the other regions. Once it gets to me (manager), I will have for example $10,000 to give to my employees. The tool we use lets me plug in salary increase percentages for each person and the total changes with each one so I play with the percentages until the pool is close to $0. However, the percentages I give will be changed by Directors, VPs, SVPs, etc. Then when they finish, I go in to the tool and give you the new percentage. Same thing happens with DPMs. I can rate you Outstanding and have it changed to Satisfactory because the dept needs to stay in the bell curve. Also, I may love your work and want to reward you but someone higher than me may like someone better and they will reduce your score so they can increase theirs. Happens all the time.

Out of curiosity, which locations mandate pay rises?

In many locations out side of the United States they will get raises as they are mandated by law. We have no such laws here.

Why would Sabre offer any raises? If employees are unhappy with their salaries and leave the company, Sabre does not have to pay any severance.

With the risk of 25% of employees loosing their jobs in these up coming layoffs i dont think its the right time to be asking about pay rises...

Merits will be paid from October. I hope they know that if they don't increase salaries at least half of KRK will quit.

Pay increase.....not likely. Reorganizational changes are needed with the recent departure of leadership, a clean sweep of those who only participate to collect $$$. Where did working hard for your money go?

We have not won any big deals/sales, nothing in the horizon and on the 31st of July we are going to have a major reduction......do you think we have money to spend on raises????? Only future Execs that have done squat for Sabre will start off their career with a nice Bonus.
