Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Lifetime Alignments no longer sold

I just read my latest email. In bold red letters it was stated that based on customer demand, lifetime alignments are no longer offered. Customer demand my fat butt! Closer and closer to the edge we move.......

SEARS MEMORIAL AND I 10 AUTO CENTER.

THREE MECHANICS SEATING DOWN. NO CARS INSIDE THE SHOP.

I WANT TO CHECK MY 1 YEAR ALIGMENT BECAUSE IT IS PULLING TO THE RIGHT.

I WAS TOLD THAT SATURDAY IS A BAD DAY.. THEY HAD MANY APPOINTMENTS.

I KNOW EVERYBODY..I'M A CLIENT FOR THE LAST 32 YEARS.

"""The Sears store at Memorial City Mall is reported to be closing later this year, Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018 in Houston.""""

I UNDERSTAND THAT EMPLOYEES MIGHT BE UPSET FOR LOSING THEIR JOBS, BUT, THEY DO NOT APPRECIATE THE LOYALTY OF CLIENTES LIKE ME WHO KEPT THEIR JOBS FOR SO MANY DECADES.

Just a heads up to all the CSA/ BSC/ Techs and auto center managers, Move in from Sears. Don't be blinded by the BS emails about corporate restructuring, its all coming to an end. DSMs want you to focus on Big 5 services, audit rolls over 90%, Domo etc etc it's all coming to an end. It's just a matter of time, look around you, see how different your DSM is, they all know it's close to the end.

hears a question to anyone still working at a sears autocenter ... what about the people that have bought them can they come back for a refund on the one they have purchased before the store closes or the company goes under

I can't believe they were selling them as long as they did. I was a service writer when they first became available. Not a bad deal but they only made sense for Sears if the service writer could sell more work.

Well...that's bad news. I had tires and the whole works for my 2012 Chrysler Town and Country van, including the lifetime alignment. Initially I wasn't going to buy that but I had a coupon that made everything a deal I couldn't pass up so I decided to take a small chance.

I hope Sears Auto survives, I've had good experiences with them and I had been going way before I started working for Sears.

Sears home delivery service (Innovel) is terrible though. Had a washer, dryer and pedestals delivered due to free delivery with a Sears card. Would have been a lot less of a headache picking it up from a store and hooking it up myself. Scraped and creased my entry door, scratched my laminate wood flooring and gouged my drywall. Sedgwick, the claims administrator, was not helpful and wanted to drag it out as long as possible. I eventually gave up and spent $700 to repair the damage.

Hey Mr ASM, you are WRONG. "I am an ASM at a sears store I have gone into our auto center and can say the OP is correct they have been told to not ask about lifetime nor sell the lifetime alignments any longer." Go back out to the shop and look at TPOS. Lifetime alignments are gone. Exactly like our jobs will be in very soon!

Customer demand? That's a good one. No shame whatsoever.

Not a business decision dear @1fyq. A Going Out of Business decision.

I am an ASM at a sears store I have gone into our auto center and can say the OP is correct they have been told to not ask about lifetime nor sell the lifetime alignments any longer. the lifetime alignments have been around for years and with this news you would have to have your head stuck in the sand if you think this is anything but the end for this company ... buy the end of the year you will surely see more store closings happening

lol lol lol lol did that person say go on pebble ..... wow ... are you serious right now. your not allowed to post anything negative on pebble or your asked to remove it the company will only allow the rah rah comments on the site . your a fool and have blinders on if you think this company gives a rats behind about the employee and our family they are trying to pad their pockets before we close and by not selling the lifetime alignment that's the less backlash they will have when we go belly up. Wake up. oh yea tell your manager yea right they are so frustrated with their jobs as it is, the SGM is a complete waste of payroll and might as well be giving Eddie a reach around himself. all he does for our store is sit in his office and b--ch because we don't have enough credit apps

OP here. What do you mean by "feel good about yourself"? I posted the truth. Raise the issue on Pebble? Boy, it's obvious you're with corporate. Pebble is a joke. Rah Rah Sears! You never bought a lifetime alignment because you know the truth. That is.....we're going into bankruptcy very soon! When you see Eddie tell him to be-low me.

wfu, another funny guy. I hope you feel good about yourself now.

I have no idea about the strategy behind the lifetime alignment offer, but I would assume it was a business decision.

OP, if you have legitimate concerns please pass this feedback to your management and raise this issue in Pebble.

FYI. I use SAC for all my family cars and all tires were bought from them. However I never purchased a lifetime alignment.

they could still market them and just say in the fine print the lifetime they are referring to is Sears itself
