This is funny, how can one bring 23 members of a family in Company's event - even if it self funded. Were others given option to invite their family? Shame to who ever did that. Looks like there are no ethics in Oracle. It's good that I declined the offer from Oracle.
Dear Mr. author, please get your facts right before you write such misleading posts out of sheer jealousy and frustration, purely going by hearsay. Specially when you were present in last year's event yourself. Let me write about the actual facts now - "the said family members" joined, not on Oracle money but by spending money from their own pockets. Yes, something you and your coterie can never even imagine to. Secondly it was a celebration for multiple reasons - on being the best region and on being the LoB of the year! Something again you cannot fathom in your dreams, considering the horrible conditions SCs had to face (read being treated as laptop bags by sales guys and not getting promotions/ hikes for years), during your regime. And let me also tell you what it means if goes by hearsay about you- an old hag who was unceremoniously ousted from the company, doing one sh--ty role after another, not contributing one single bit to the business but drawing a huge salary! Take my advice or don't, its time for you to retire into oblivion and let the younger lot come up, as they are way more talented, hard working and determined, and can actually get results, not scrape through by lip service and boot licking like you did. And please don't resort to such cheap tactics to draw attention to yourself because no one really gives a damn!

Oracle's methods in India are making a mockery of modern day India and its people.
But those who are local and complicit are laughing all the way to the bank. In this they are as corrupt as the rest of the world. Very ancient and very modern all at once.

India, being tech-heavy, experiencing growth in its economy and being one of the most populous places on the earth is a fresh and lucrative market. It took 30+ years for enterprise customers in existing markets to figure out that being tied to Oracle was a formula for being overcharged and underserved. India simply doesn't yet know how Oracle operates and this gives Oracle a "fresh start" to find new sources of revenue.
From what is described here, it sounds somewhat like what Oracle in the US was 15+ years ago -- company-paid events, an opportunity to be paid well, etc. Eventually, the parties, stock options, reward trips, etc. dried up. Now all the other benefits (car allowance, home office reimbursement, vacation bank, etc.) along with compensation (mainly bonus/commission) are gone or shrinking. Let's check back with India in about 10-15 years to see how this plays out. Perhaps by then reality will be more evident and Oracle will be building out new centers in Africa as labor is cheap and the market doesn't know how Oracle operates.
If you've watched the latest oracle videos coming out of India, you will notice that they have gone to great lengths to show diversity in the videos --especially to include women . The women in the videos are grinning and smiling but they don't have computers in front of them like all the men in the video do. It's pretty funny. And Sad.
What's even more sad is that very few people will pay attention to these details.
It's obvious to this casual observer that these women are just props.
India is just the new frontier where oracle exec leaders take their sales tactics to new unsuspecting dumdums. The only reason it will work is there are some corrupt "locals" in country who are "in on the scheme" with the oracle trio and getting paid to rip off their fellow businessmen.
