Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Vacations being threatened to be cancelled by the SGM if our area is not doing well

Well hello dumb azz the entire company is failing, if you haven't noticed, we as a store are down almost 50% per day in sales and struggle to get enough PA sales to make the company happy. you threaten my vacations then you turn around and take the weekend off... way to motivate your troops! lead by example as the boss don't threaten your workers that's not how to get things done.

just my rant for the day

Don't get yourself in a situation where you are doing things like this. If you are unhappy, the best thing is to find another job. You don't want to be trying to figure out how to "work the system" to get unemployment. Just move on. If you are unhappy in your current job, you will feel far better being productive in another job someplace else than wondering if you will/won't receive unemployment.

The store can fight it , but they must show you as a very bad employee, if your a normal employee with hours worked your going to get your unemployment, if you have called in multiple time , barley worked you scheduled hours then you might not get it ... and or why you got fired if you told the boss to go f yourself after you have been a good employee and finally snapped youll still get you unemployment

Anyone know the law in Michigan specifically? Is getting terminated for "just cause" a disqualifier for unemployment?

@pbd If you quit you can't get unemployment. Always make them fire you or lay you off.

In my state when you leave a company, you get your vacation paid out so this wouldn't be the smartest decision of your manager here.

lol good thing or bad thing,,,, its sears..... getting another job can only be a good thing, shoot with the reputation this company has good luck finding a job. my store closed last year, now I have every Sunday off, my family life is 100 times better and I don't mind going into work and even working some overtime , mind you I get paid for it and not just expected to do when I was on salary (slave labor) sears managers sign a paper stating your expected to work up to 50 hours yet during the Christmas season your scheduled 6 days at 9-10 hours.. imo that's a against the contract that was signed
