Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

How helpful are the career recruiters when laid off?

I'm trying to prepare. I'm a CHE and have made it thru 2 rounds of layoffs, but do not want to be c---y and assume I'll make it thru a third. So Humana assists laid off employees, but how much? What are the reasonable expectations that the associate will find a nee role? If not, how much help do they give you with a third party placement? Thanks.

My experience internally was positive but useless. She tried there just wasn't that many openings and they didn't seem interested in hiring us laid off people. The folks at Right Management were great but I just haven't had any luck finding anything yet.

Humana will assign you with an internal recruiter to help find an internal position. Not really helpful, IMO. But, the outsourced Management/Transition company that employees can use seemed to be very good and helpful, lots of webinars and help topics like resume writing, etc. My experience was very good with the transition-management company, but in my case you only get 1 month of help, tho it seems like the recruiters there are willing to help longer if needed. They also host local networking events, etc. The people I dealt with were competent and helpful. Tho I feel for anyone going through it, try to look at it as a gift- getting paid to find a GREAT job with a positive culture and not what HAH has become. Best of luck!!

A friend who was laid off was scheduled recruiter sessions tha were supposed to be 30 minutes. Her calls from the recruiter were generally late and lasted about six minutes each. After the last hits conversation the recruiter still could not remember her name. They were basically inept. But, of course, this ineptness is widespread in humana from the top down.
