Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Cannot be productive

As hard as I try, I cannot be productive. I hate telling my members I will speak to them in 12 weeks knowing I may not have a job then. I cannot imagine many will be productive until we know who is staying and who is going.

No I was just replying to the shark attack analogy.

Did you get a confidential email ?

And just when we think we are safe for 2017, and all is quiet, the confidential email returns. Like a bad horror movie.

I think I preferred the scheduled meeting and reschedule (1st and 2nd round) vs the crickets... At least we know it's coming. Kinda like a shark attack.

I thinkonly HR and higher ups know plan. They r watching this site and keeping lips sealed.....i think its horrible and completelt unprofessional to announce that layoffs r coming and make ur employees sit and wait and wonder.... I think that creates more issues then just laying people off!

I feel you, posters. My whole team is depressed. Everyone is having a tough time. We are doing our jobs as usual, but everyone I talk to is anxious.

Agree 100% previous poster. Your approach and attitude are what we should all strive for. Thanks for reminding me. 💕

I know it is hard for me too- I just keep reframing to myself that actually nothing has changed and I just have to keep the regular work routine going. The rumors have been widespread for so long- and I believed them so nothing really has changed for me I just now know that the layoff is coming sooner. I have no control or say with that- I'm just able to control my one routine

I agree below poster, that we can't change whatever list was made. At the same time, we need to be careful not to freeze up from stress and lose severance or jobs due to not meeting expectations.

Increasing your metrics now won't determine if you stay or go. It has been decided already. If anything it will show that you were a slacker and could have gotten better numbers. It could have a negative effect.

When an outside company is involved they are looking at degree u posses, experience, level of skills.... I think our metrics and things of that nature arent going to decide who stays or goes.... They are looking at big picture not phc picture....people layed off in last round were people woth good numbers.... Thats whats scary about this process... Its not whose numbers r better but who human wants and why

Agreed. ANYTHING you can do to make yourself look worth keeping is necessary at this point. I'm upping my CHE task completions for the very same reason. Keep at it. It might put you one call up from the others and be just enough to keep the job. 💕

You're not alone. Just keep making calls because you don't want to freeze up and lose your severance (if you are on the list), or find out you're not on the list and lose the job anyway. Just keep calling and we will know something soon.
