Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

If you're thinking of leaving...

I would first and foremost love to say thank you to the previous people who have stated to leave. I have and I cannot express how much happier I am with my life and how it's improved in so many aspects. If you're asking yourself if you should leave...the answer is yes. I took a pay cut but there's no price on your happiness. Only thing is is that I wish I'd done it sooner.

You work in an air conditioned building with an hour lunch and benefits. How about you follow your lifelong dream career and that's the only way you will be happy. Good luck with paying for school though.

Thank you for quitting. Good paying jobs with good benefits are hard to find.... plus where else are you going to work that will pay you 40K-70K a year just for freaking showing up... it's rare for someone to be completely happy at their job... the grass is not always greener on the other side. I am always grateful for being hired. Yes, layoffs happen but Verizon is not the only company who has layoffs. Thank you for making room for somebody who will appreciate their job!

Isn't that the truth the company is a joke, no strategic vision or plan just the pablum of the Credo, they have consistently under Lowell made all the wrong moves

How in the hell can one move on and yet still continue to go to a website of their ex-employer constantly posting messages? Good god, you are gone, now be gone with this verizon website... you're like a Facebook stalker looking at your exes pictures for 10 years after you've been divorced... sad...

I don't get how anyone can be happy working for VZ. I was with VZW and I couldn't be happier being gone.

The hours s---ed, the pay got worse and worse while they kept raising quota, the workload kept increasing with the layoffs and just too much unethical behaviors being rewarded. What's their to be happy about?

Those of us who are still here and have great careers at Verizon are glad you're gone, too.

I retired earlier this year on my own . After surviving 15 years of rifs I couldn't get one of my own last year. You can't possibly understand the environment I worked in over the last 10 years. Building maintenance was a joke. Elevators breaking down with people in them constantly. Ofc on top floor with roof leaking 2 or three times a year and I mean a gusher. Ofc decor 40 years old. 4 people in an ofc that once had 30 people 10 years ago. Manager worked from home so he didn't have to come into this situation. Scumbag. No respect for employees. You can't tell me this all isn't by design to make you quit. Well after 30 years I had enough and that's exactly what I did. I didn't give them two weeks I gave them 10 minutes on the phone from my driveway. Filled out all my pension work on line and see you later . Total trash they are. I feel great . Moving back to my home state out west next year God willing. I felt like a Troll under a bridge. What a collapse of a once proud company being run by absolute incompetent trash.
