Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Layoff pushed, hr can't keep up

Rumor has it majority of layoffs pushed to September, HR can't get the packages ready in time. Lots of work goes into each round so they pushed back.

Don't worry the process is getting streamlined. With any luck things should be faster for the end of Q2, just in time for the holidays.

Push out seems to be for everyone not in hardware / sun / solaris. That axe was sharpened months ago...

Not sure whether there is a pushout, at least not for some, per this thread.

"Solaris layoffs today

I know I am not a too performer, but have been around for 17 years as part of Sun and Oracle. I haven't got any notice for tomorrow, so I am assuming I am safe. Haven't heard anyone immediate in Solaris getting a notice either, neither in Storage. So, seems that no one is getting laid off. Cheers till Sept !

Oracle HR acts more like the 1st line of defense for legal. They rarely answer questions that would be standard for any HR department. When I emailed my HR Rep, days before June 30 RIF, I received an email reply notification telling me she was extremely busy and will respond as fast as she can. Good luck and document everything.,,

I wish someone with real knowledge would confirm if this is true. If it is, that's just pathetic.

Death by a thousand cuts, slow and painful.

I guess this gives Oracle more time to (re)think through their Sparc/Solaris/M9/ML (Machine Learning) strategy.

They probably laid off the HRs sometime back not realizing the consequence.
