Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

Heads Up HCS Case Managers!!

From what we have heard from other plans, and the goings on in California, it appears that Case Managers ARE going to be cut in the second wave. Particularly in States like Ohio where there is the CPC project and CM's will be losing large amounts of cases. If you are wanting to try to ride this wave, you need to be proactive, and be proactive NOW. It sounds like California is makin CM's close case with outdated contacts, as many as possible. That's because they are obviously running reports to give to that evil, horrid consulting firm. They want to know what bare bones CMs they can have to keep the ship afloat until the buyout. Start by updating your cases asap. Don't worry about quality, just get your contacts with members in, and hash out a quick dar. Again, numbers game.(granted, most of us in other states are overloaded with cases anyway). But if you are behind, sounds like you might get screwed too. Build your caseload if you don't have a full one already. They more members everyone has, the less CM's they can cut. That's just all there is to it. Learn from California, and get moving on it asap.

Fake news. CMs were not hit today. Shame on those putting out such fear provoking rumors.

Many departments are overloaded with work and cases. This layoff is not about accommodating our work. It's about let go and rehiring employees and pay them less or let the new buying company decide to keep Molina staff or let go. Molina is not selling staff they are selling Molina's pre-exiting business, oh yes, with top people like Joe White among others.

Exactly! It's like "Chicken Little The Sky Is Falling." Someone has to stay employed. Every department that is named here would be a very drastic, and unrealistic cut. There is a lot of extra stuff at Molina, but some jobs are needed to run a health care insurance company.

Do you people realize that in this thread alone: all of ToC is gone, LPN case managers and CRPs are at risk, 3/4 of CMs are gone, and the entire community connector program is gone. Other threads say IT and HR will see drastic cuts. Pretty soon we are up to 75% of the workforce. Molina can't possibly make all these cuts

3/4 of case managers cut? That seems like more than it could possibly be. The members have Case Managers that are here to keep them from running to ED a million times for every little thing. Case Managers do save Molina money. Cutting 3/4 of them seems over the top. Where did you get that number from?

Community connectors aren't needed to be profitable. Remember these cuts are about profits. The consulting firm looks at other health plans and no others health plan has these roles and are doing fine. Remember its through the consulting firms eyes. Community connectors were added as a service to the low income community. This board, joe white, and investors ONLY CARE ABOUT PROFIT.

3/4 of case managers will be let go by September 2017. This is why you will be cleaning out your cases for an easy transition out. Great job, Joe White, another milestone.

Yes unfortunately all community connectors and care connectors will be let go. The consulting firm sees no need for them and sees them as a waste

Field work....does that mean Care Connectors?

Why CRP's specifically?

Eliminating ToC doesn't surprise me, unfortunately. Also have heard that CRPs are at a high risk of losing their jobs, and as well as LPN case managers, as if you're going to cut, it doesn't make sense to cut the RN's over the LPN's, because RN's have to sign off on their care plans.

I heard not just CMs but all ToC is out. Their perspective is a CM can do that plus eliminate all field work. So Transitions of care is being eliminated.
