I think the focus is a result of the company hiring licensed staff for HAH while reducing non licensed staff. Additionally, we have been told (at least on my team) that licenses are going to be considered when they look at which leaders to keep. However, nobody has told us that licenses are being considered when deciding what PHC's to keep. So that might not be a consideration at all with respect to PHC's.
You all forget non licensed staff are cheaper. Licensing for this role is not mandated by CMS regs. Why is everyone so focused on this?
Thanks, that answers my questions about who answers the monitored members alerts. One less job for PHC's it seems... I guess it makes sense, someone with a recent ER visit, etc., would want to speak with a nurse, but it just doesn't look good for a PHC's at this point.
There are 2 teams of phcs who all they do is register members to RMT (remote minitoring team) these are answered by rns. So things are in the work to reduce or eliminate non-clinical staff.
They have hired quite a few rns and ltih is now managing members telephonically, which us new.... I can see them eliminating allnon clinical phcs... Some phcs are licensed in social work so they may just keep them.... I have 0 confidence in anything JR says.... So him saying non clinical phcs are needed.... Till when is the question
The graduation of members can be done with a letter or mailing
They are going your need some PHC's to graduate all these members. Once the other members are moved to "monitored," was there ever clarification of plans to have PHC's respond to alerts? Or would that job go to RN's?
If they need PHC's to graduate members, then it would be logical that Humana have another layoff in 2018 once this job is finished.
Where do you find the organization chart??
You can easily still have a program, but on a smaller scale. I have heard they are looking to release about 50% of the PHCs. 230 people is still a good amount of people. It is normal practice in business to often go smaller before you can go back to growth. Go smaller and get a handle on things. Everything ebbs and flows in health care/insurance.
I agree!
I still believe that the end goal is to get rid of the role or the program. I am not in any way swayed by JR's denial of this as the only consistency with statements of have been their misrepresentation of truth
