The way Oracle is trying to force people to the "cloud" is laughable. They are going full retard on licensing and screwing over loyal customers by changing terms and delivering insane bills. They then think that companies will trust them for cloud? LOL!!

Any real company does AWS, Azure, and maybe Google. Oracle is not a player in this space.

There's a much better Seeking Alpha article that calls out Oracle's BS: 1) Oracle isn't really growing (its earnings bump from Q42017 is due entirely to a one-time tax break); 2) Cloud products are not competitive; 3) SC's "just in time" strategy (build out cloud data centers after they see revenue) does not and cannot work; 4) Oracle's cloud growth, to the extent that it exists, is due primarily to the Netsuite acquisition and is not sustainable; 5) There's no organic growth in IaaS; 6) Even with the recent bump since June, ORCL stock has underperformed the S&P 500.

It's just another mediocre expose on the importance of Cloud...

In this article, we’ll be looking at the upside of Oracle’s cloud business to see which component is the most critical for long-term stability. With legacy revenues on the decline, this is probably one of the more important elements of owning ORCL.
